Meet The Chef


 

My name is Christina Pisanelli Jones, and I was born and raised here in Columbus, Ohio.  From a young age, I remember being encouraged to test my creativity and artistic ability, that would eventually lead me to baking.  I am a proud graduate of The Columbus School for Girls (Go Unicorns!), and Miami University.  However, after graduating from college, I found that there was something missing in my career.

  My love for baking began in 1996, when I became Apprentice to the Executive Chef at a fine dining restaurant here in Columbus.  I was quickly drawn to the dessert menu, and baking, and in a short time, found it was a passion.  In 1997 I decided to fine tune my baking skills, and went to Napa Valley, California to attend the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone.  It was here that I began blending my love for baking with my creativity and style.  I immersed myself in the experience, working as a Teaching Assistant while attending classes.  This gave me the unique opportunity to work alongside, and learn from, some of the finest pastry chefs in the business.   

I stayed on and worked in Napa Valley for a few more years, and in the fall of 2001, found myself headed back home to Columbus.  I met and married my wonderful husband, Tom, and we moved to our farm, Bella Luna. Having love in my life, and an inspirational place to create, helps me to appreciate how special your wedding day is.  It gives me joy to participate in making it as personal and memorable as it should be.
